Health systems and public health

MannionDaniels provides technical assistance across all aspects of health systems development and public health. We work with national and sub-national government partners mainly in fragile and conflict-affected countries, to support the transition from humanitarian to developmental approaches that look to bolster good governance, security and stability.

Our work with government and civil society organisations aims to build capacity and resilience, support inclusive systems and ensure transparency and accountability across the public and private health sectors.

We support the development of national and sub-national health, population and nutrition sector plans and budgets, working to make sure resources are targeted to priority needs and used equitably and efficiently.

Topic areas:

  • Health sector reform
  • Leadership and governance
  • Strategic planning, budgeting and accountability
  • Performance frameworks, monitoring, evaluation and learning
  • Resilient and inclusive health service delivery
  • Communicable and non-communicable disease prevention and control
  • Neglected tropical diseases.

Case study: Support to Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

Our ongoing work with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in Bangladesh started with review of the third National Health Sector Strategic Plan and continued through to supporting the development of the fourth Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Plan, Results Framework and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). The recent annual review included facilitation of the Joint Government-Development Partners Policy Dialogue chaired by the Honourable Minister, Secretary of Health and DG Health Services and DG Family Planning.
